Mr. Musick joined the firm in 2006 after serving several years in the New York Field Office of the United States Secret Service where he investigated financial crimes. Since joining the firm he has concentrated his practice in the following areas:

Representative Matters

Successfully briefed and argued in defense of an appeal before the Supreme Court of Virginia on issues regarding the Virginia Consumer Protection Act, Truth in Lending Act, and the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act. Schmidt v. Household Finance Corporation, 276 Va. 108, 661 S.E.2d 834 (2008).
Regularly defends lawsuits filed in the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia and has numerous published opinions in his favor.
Successfully defended appeals to the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. Barrigan v. Decision One, 353 Fed. Appx. 813 (4^th Cir. 2009).
Represents clients in regulatory matters before the State Corporation Commission.
Represents lenders and brokers doing business in Virginia with regards to claims brought under the Mortgage Lender and Broker Act, Consumer Finance Act, Consumer Protection Act, and the Payday Loan Act.
Defends lenders and creditors in lawsuits filed under the Truth in Lending Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act among others.
Regularly represents creditors in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia.
