Education Law

ThompsonMcMullan represents public school boards throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. Brad King leads a team of attorneys in this area of practice, providing counsel and representation in the substantive areas of:

special education,
employment,
student discipline, and
contract negotiations.

The Education Team also has extensive experience in providing counsel and representation in matters related to the U.S. and Virginia Constitutions and numerous state and federal acts, including the Virginia Public Procurement Act, Virginia Freedom of Information Act, Americans with Disabilities Act and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act. Additionally attorneys regularly revise and update school board policies and administrative manuals to reflect the most current law.
