Lucy Davis joined ThompsonMcMullan in October 2005 after seven years as the Assistant District Counsel to the United States Small Business Administration’s Richmond District Office (SBA).
Ms. Davis’ practice is concentrated in commercial lending, particularly government guaranteed lending. Ms. Davis has experience working in SBA offices across the country and was selected for assignments as the Acting District Counsel in the Atlanta, Seattle, and Richmond Districts. She has also served on assignment as counsel for the SBA National Guaranty Purchase Center and the SBA Headquarters in Washington, DC.
Ms. Davis is licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia and the State of Maryland. She serves as an Area Representative for the Real Property Section of the Virginia State Bar and as a Region III representation for the National Association for Government Guaranteed Lenders (NAGGL). She is a member of the National Association of Development Companies (NADCO), the Richmond Bar Association, and the Metropolitan Richmond Women’s Bar Association. She has written articles for the NAGGL newsletter including, “The Top Ten Reasons for the Repair or Denial of the SBA Guarantee,” “SBA Procedure for Reimbursement of Lender Legal Fees on 7(a) Loans,” and “Early Defaults, Early Loan Problems Impact SBA Guarantee Purchase Procedures.”
Originally from White Bear Lake, Minnesota, Ms. Davis is a 1996 graduate of the University of Richmond, T.C. Williams School of Law, and a 1993 graduate of Randolph Macon Woman’s College in Lynchburg, Virginia.
