Legal Assistant


The Legal Assistant is responsible for supporting attorneys in the Elder Law group for all aspects of administrative support.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Must be a notary to assist attorneys with document signings in the office and occasionally off-site
  • Perform filings for clients
  • Support the Elder Law group with guardianship cases
  • Conduct over the phone Care Plan Meetings for guardianship nursing home clients
  • Print and file a high volume of monthly bank statements for guardianship client files
  • Scan all Medicare Summaries and Explanation of Benefits from insurance companies; save to client files
  • Perform conflicts checks in practice management software and through internal firm email
  • Answer telephone calls and assist clients
  • Meet and assist clients who come to the office
  • Maintain accurate telephone message log for attorneys
  • Open files in timely manner
  • Make appointments for attorneys and keep updated calendar
  • Sort and distribute mail
  • Maintain files

Job Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of related work experience in a professional services firm
  • Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Willingness to flex as required to meet the need of the house
  • Lift up to 25 pounds

Hours: 9:00am – 5:00pm, Monday-Friday
