Litigation Legal Assistant

Overview:

The Litigation Legal Assistant is responsible for supporting attorneys in the Litigation group in all aspects of administrative support.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Drafting of pleadings and familiarity with basic litigation pleadings and procedures
  • Assisting with preparation and assembling of documents regarding discovery
  • Calculating deadlines, inputting deadline reminders, and distributing to attorneys
  • Corresponding with various courts to schedule hearings
  • Knowledge of PACER filing process (Federal Court)
  • Assisting in time entry and monthly billing
  • Responsible for the organization and upkeep of all case filing documents to include electronic scanning
  • Answering telephone calls, meeting and assisting clients as needed in office
  • Opening and closing files in timely manner to include initial conflict check process
  • Scheduling appointments for attorneys and maintaining calendars
  • Sorting and distributing mail
  • Willingness to perform various administrative/interoffice duties
  • Notary public preferred

Job Qualifications:

  • 0-5 years of related work experience in a professional services firm
  • Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, a willingness to use Microsoft Teams
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds

Salary starts at $45,000/year for entry level candidates. Competitive salary is commensurate with experience for candidates with a law firm background. Generous benefits provided.

Hours: 9:00AM-5:00PM, Monday-Friday
