Lindsay Pickral will speak on a panel at the Virginia Treatment Center for Children’s Mental Health Symposium to discuss guardianship for young adolescents transitioning to adulthood.
Lindsay’s discussion will focus on the legal options available to assist and/or protect youth with their healthcare and financial decisions as they become legal adults. Parents and caregivers often need guidance on whether advance directives and powers of attorney are appropriate, or whether the guardianship and conservatorship process is necessary. Lindsay will also offer recommendations on what legal documents and plans parents should have in place should they become disabled or unexpectedly predecease their special-needs child.
