ThompsonMcMullan Adds Two Attorneys and Midlothian Office

July 1, 2018

RICHMOND, VIRGINIA  (July 1, 2018) — Carolyn White and Christopher McCarthy recently joined ThompsonMcMullan as Directors of the firm, which now has 34 attorneys. Previously, they were principals with the law firm of White & McCarthy in Midlothian, Virginia. McCarthy and White focus their practices on elder law, estate and trust planning and administration, veterans benefits, long-term care planning, and special needs planning, and will continue to practice in the Midlothian office.

“We have long admired the work of these two attorneys.” said ThompsonMcMullan President and Managing Director Christopher M. Malone.  “They are a natural fit for our established elder law practice group. The addition of a Midlothian office location for our firm will enable us to meet the needs of our clients outside of downtown Richmond.”

ThompsonMcMullan will maintain offices at the former White & McCarthy location, at 15871 City View Drive, Suite 220, Midlothian, VA 23113.

“Chris and I were looking for a strategy to expand our offerings to our elder law and special needs clients,” said Carolyn White. “After decades as a small law firm, we’re very excited to join with the ThompsonMcMullan attorneys who have been our mentors and colleagues and share our commitment to providing clients with candid expertise and common sense solutions.”

Carolyn is a former president of the Richmond Bar Association and the Metropolitan Richmond Women’s Bar Association. She is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and a Fellow of the Virginia Law Foundation. She can be reached at
