ThompsonMcMullan Adds Two Shareholders and Five Elected Directors to the Firm

ThompsonMcMullan is pleased to announce that David R. Ruby and Neil S. Talegaonkar are now Shareholders of the firm as of January 1, 2014. Rebecca C. Bowen, Zachary D. Cohen, Sherry A. Fox, Thomas D. Lane, and Andrea J. Yoak were elected as new directors of the firm.

David R. Ruby represents clients in a wide variety of bankruptcy and creditors’ rights matters. In addition, he represents clients in business and commercial transactions and tax-exempt organizations.

Neil S.Talegaonkar handles a variety of employment issues in various state and federal courts including wrongful discharge claims, discrimination and harassment suits, wage and hour claims, misappropriation of trade secrets, business conspiracy claims, restrictive covenants, and other business torts. He also regularly represents employers before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Virginia Employment Commission.

Rebecca C. Bowen practices in the areas of business entities and transactions, estate planning, and tax law.  Her practice involves the representation of small to medium sized businesses, in all aspects of the business life cycle from start-up and entity formation to the sale, dissolution, or other succession planning for the business.  She also practices in the area of estate planning, including the preparation of wills, trust agreements, powers of attorney, and advance medical directives; probate avoidance planning; and, counseling clients on wealth transfer planning and preservation.

Zachary D. Cohen focuses his practice on trademarks, copyrights, e-commerce, advertising law, intellectual property disputes, and licensing.  Mr. Cohen counsels clients in intellectual property transactions involving trademark and copyright licenses, technology licenses, database rights, intellectual property due diligence and audits, domain name transfers, and e-commerce agreements.

Sherry A. Fox focuses her practice on adoptions, civil and commercial litigation, business entities and transactions; and employment law.

Thomas D. Lane is a litigator and trial attorney, focusing on civil litigation.  His areas of practice include insurance defense, defense of constitutional officers, workers’ compensation, construction law, contract disputes, and collections.

Andrea J. Yoak focuses on Elder law and disability planning, estate planning and administration and fiduciary and chancery litigation.
