Christopher McCarthy Elected to VAELA Board of Directors

Congratulations to Christopher McCarthy for his recent election to the Virginia Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (VAELA) Board of Directors for the 2021 term. Effective July 1, 2021, Chris will serve on the Board through June 30, 2023, a role he has occupied in years prior as well.

VAELA is a non-profit professional association of attorneys that provides educational opportunities to its members regarding the needs of, and solutions for, the elderly, their families, and their caregivers, and advocates for beneficial care and laws for these persons. Comprised of almost 200 members, the Virginia Chapter is the leading group for Elder Law practitioners in the Commonwealth.

With Elder Law being the only area of law Chris has ever practiced, he was the first attorney in central Virginia to become a Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA) through the National Elder Law Foundation (NELF). NELF is the only national organization accredited by the American Bar Association to offer certification in elder law.
