Energy and Telecommunications attorney and Chair of the Board with Virginia Renewable Energy Alliance (VREA) Cliona Mary Robb has been selected to present at this year’s Southeast Renewable Energy Summit in Charlotte, NC. Participating as a panelist in a session titled “Virginia – Can Meeting the Energy Reliability Needs of New Data Centers Be Balanced Against Clean Economy Act Goals?”, Cliona will be joined by Kim Jemaine, Political Director with Counterspark; Scott Gaskill, Vice President, Regulatory Affairs with Dominion Energy; and Christopher Ercoli, President and Chief Executive Officer with Retail Energy Advancement League.
The annual conference will provide insight into how legislation, regulatory decisions, and mammoth increases in energy demand are spurring both utility and corporate renewable energy procurements and the ways in which these changes are affecting state markets. The panel sessions will also cover what is on the horizon for 2025 by:
- Examining projected load growth and projected future generation needs in individual states
- Reporting on the current policies and incentive programs for each state, as well as the outlook for upcoming changes affecting renewable energy development
- Exploring the impacts of legislative and regulatory trends regarding land use, decommissioning, and environmental compliance
- Providing overviews of utility procurements and future needs as identified in IRPs
