Civil Litigation attorneys Rachel Adams and Peter Askin have been promoted to Shareholder and Partner, respectively. Both started with the firm at the associate level and are an integral part of our Civil Litigation practice group. Rachel represents publicly traded companies, individual business owners, constitutional officers, state agencies, and universities across business-related issues, contract issues, and employment matters. She has extensive experience litigation in state and federal courts across Virginia and has handled all facets of trial work. She frequently serves as lead and local counsel in cases across all divisions of the EDVA. Peter regularly served as first and second chair at the trial level, strategizing and managing all phases of civil litigation, including pleading, discovery, and dispositive motions. He has expertise litigating in the federal court for the EDVA and has equally specialized knowledge of Virginia state courts. Peter also serves as a state and federal appeals attorney, having briefed and orally argued multiple appeals before the Court of Appeals of Virginia, Supreme Court of Virginia, and U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
