With appeals of right now the norm in Virginia’s state and federal courts, many trial teams would benefit from associating with appellate counsel early. ThompsonMcMullan’s John O’Herron is leading a CLE, hosted by the Richmond Bar Association (RBA), that will discuss the many benefits of embedded appellate counsel at trial, from preserving error and otherwise situating a case for appellate review, to leveraging appellate skills in research, persuasive writing, and strategy, to freeing trial counsel to focus on what they do best. This session is open to members and non-members of RBA and will help both trial lawyers and appellate practitioners learn how to leverage appellate counsel on their trial team.
