Civil Litigation attorneys Rachel Adams, Sean Breit-Rupe, and Billy Tunner presented a mock trial at the 2025 Virginia Association of Regional Jails (VARJ) Conference. Hosted annually, the conference features a variety of presenters who discuss emerging issues and hot topics, in addition to providing training on critical practices. Networking is incorporated throughout the three-day event, exposing VARJ partners to superintendents and staff of the state’s regional jails.
The session provided a demonstration of, and insight into, a civil trial and a brief overview of the Virginia Constitutional Officer and Regional Jail Risk Management Plan (VaRISK). The focus of the presentation was to highlight the liability protection that is available to employees of regional jails and what to do if you are sued.
