Appellate partner John P. O’Herron has been asked to present to students enrolled in University of Virginia Law School’s Legal Storytelling, a class that gives students the fundamental building blocks they need to become effective storytellers in their legal writing. John will discuss the topic through the lens of appellate briefs, and more specifically, the Sheriff Roger L. Harris, et al. v. Dennis Christopher Howard case. John also authored an article on Harris v. Howard that was recently published in the Virginia State Bar Virginia Lawyer journal. Additional guest speakers throughout the semester include nationally acclaimed writers with expertise in multiple genres who will share storytelling strategies that students will adapt for briefs and pleadings, in addition to a federal judge, allowing the students to learn by reading examples of practitioners’ litigation writing.
