Litigation partner and firm president Billy Tunner and Litigation and Employment partner Will Prince have been appointed by the Virginia Bar Association (VBA) to the Board of Governors and the Law Practice Management Division Council, respectively, at this year’s VBA Winter Meeting.
The Board of Governors is comprised of volunteer attorneys who work together to establish the association’s policies and steer programs and projects towards the organization’s goals. The Board has an Executive Committee of seven officers and up to 17 regional, at-large, and specialty representatives. The judiciary, law schools, legislators, and government lawyers are also given the opportunity to contribute to the mission of the Board, alongside large and small firm practitioners alike.
The Law Practice Management Division (LPMD) provides information and resources to VBA members on how to build and manage a successful, effective law practice. The LPMD advocates for its mission through the implementation of education, practice resources, evaluation of practice tools, and forums and programs that promote interaction among lawyers in similar roles. The LPM Executive Committee is comprised of a chair, chair-elect, immediate past chair, and a secretary-treasurer serve as the executive committee of the LPMD, while the LPMD Council consists of no more than 14 members who are nominated by the executive committee to advise the leadership.
