Overview
High-speed broadband access is critical to the way Virginians live, work, and play. Underpinning these networks are regulations governed by the State Corporation Commission (SCC) and Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
Our telecommunications attorneys represent cable and broadband companies and Competitive Local Exchange Companies (CLECs) before state, federal, and local agencies and administrative bodies. We assist them in both acquisition or disposition of utilities under the Utility Transfers Act, obtaining designation as an eligible telecommunications carrier (ETC), and gaining certificates of public convenience and necessity (CPCN) before the FCC.
We also assist CLECs with interconnection agreements and disputes overcompensation and represent cable companies in pole attachment disputes with incumbent electric utilities.
