Overview

EDVA Practice

The United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, specifically, is an intensely busy federal court with a national reputation as the “Rocket Docket” for pushing cases through very quickly. Our firm maintains a significant practice in the EDVA, and our attorneys regularly appear in a variety of cases before the judges in this division. Our attorneys understand the Local EDVA Rules, pretrial orders, and its local practices.

In addition, the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia is a sought-after destination for large business bankruptcy cases. We maintain a significant bankruptcy practice in this court, where we regularly advise secured and unsecured creditors, defendants in preferential and fraudulent transfer actions and other interested parties involved in Chapter 7 and 11 proceedings. We frequently serve as local counsel and co-counsel with nationally-recognized law firms and in-house corporate counsel in bankruptcy proceedings in the Eastern District.
